COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY

ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE

The Computer Technology AAS is designed for the student who has minimal experience and knowledge of computer technology.

The general education requirements are designed to encourage the student to develop critical and creative thinking, computation, and communication skills. The program requirements introduce the student to the basic Cisco networking principles, CompTIA A+ hardware standards, a Microsoft Windows operating system, and Microsoft Office suite software applications.

The program electives provide the student with a blended knowledge of computer networking hardware/software, software design, and a broad understanding of the Linux operating system.

CERTIFICATES

Both the certificate I and certificate II computer technology pgorams are designed for students who have had previous coursework or work expereince with PC computer technology. The certificate I program is designed to take two semesters to complete, while the certificate II is designed to one semester to complete. 

Computer Technology Certificate I

The Computer Technology Certificate I is designed for the student who has had previous coursework or work experience with computer technology. The general education requirements are designed to encourage the student to develop computation and communication skills.

The program requirements introduce the student to the basic CompTIA A+ hardware standards, multimedia applications, and the Windows operating system.

The program electives provide the student with a blended knowledge of computer networking hardware/software, software design, Microsoft Office Suite software applications, and a broad understanding of the Linux operating system.
